30 Before 30
Hello, friend. I hope you are having a great week and a good month of January so far. As you can see from the title of this post, I wanted to create my own list of 30 activities or goals that I would like to achieve before I turn 30 this July 31. You might notice that I don’t have many of the stereotypical bucket list items like, skydive or run a marathon and there are a few reasons for this.
First, as I mentioned, I only have 6 months left to complete the list so I wanted to create a list that was going to be feasible for my current situation, location, and time frame.
Second, I wanted to add items to the list that truly resonated with me rather than things that other people might find fun or impressive. For example, skydiving might be a great achievement and life goal for some people. However, seeing as how I have ZERO desire to skydive, it just wouldn’t be time well spent for me.
You may have noticed that I will need to try and tick off at least one of the items below each week. I also tried to incorporate a combination of one time activities with goals and ideas that were longer term or practices. I’ll keep you updated on my progress over the next few months and we’ll see how things go. So, here it is….

If you haven’t created a list like this for yourself I would highly recommend doing so. For me, it was so much fun to think of meaningful activities or things that I would like to do. I also found that it taught me some new things about myself.
For example, I started by scouring the internet for other 30 in 30 lists to compare ideas and to get inspiration. However, what I discovered was that 80% of what I found were either things I had already done (Yeah) or things that wouldn’t really be meaningful to me.
Biggest Lesson I learned…
Therefore, the biggest lesson that I learned from creating this list is to know yourself. Do things because YOU want to do them or because they are meaningful to YOU. You don’t need to have a list that looks like everyone else because you in fact are not everyone else. What would you put on your 30 before 30 list?
P.S. A while back I also started my List of 100 Dreams as detailed by Laura Vanderkam in her wonderful book 168 Hours. Click here to check out my list of 100 Dreams.
