BRJ Life Update
Happy Monday, everyone! I realized a few weeks ago that aside from my newsletter, I haven’t done an updates post in a really really long time. And I so appreciate that you are curious and wanting to know how I’m doing and what’s been going on in my life recently.
This summer just flew by and between work and traveling it felt like I could never get into a good rhythm in terms of staying on top of things. Because of that, I’m hoping that the remainder of 2018 will be a little bit slower. As much as I love to travel, I truly am a homebody and really love routine.
June Travels:
To give you a recap of where I’ve been, way back in the beginning of June, I was in LA for a few days recording some videos for some courses that we’ve been creating for work.
July Travels:
Then, in July I was up in Atlanta for World Race Project Searchlight for the racers who launched back in August 2017. I was able to meet in person with the two racers that I’ve been mentoring, Leah and Caitlin so that was fantastic. My co-worker, V and I also had the chance to lead a coaching group with a few returning racers which we both loved! Overall, it was a great experience!
Another fun surprise in July was that my parents flew down from Ohio for my 31st birthday!
August Travels:
After Josh’s class finished up, we headed out to Sacramento for about a week to see Josh’s parents and the rest of his family. We had a really nice time and did a lot of fun activities including my first trip to a Starbucks Reserve!
September Travels:
As you’re reading this I will just be returning from a trip to Prince Edward Island in Canada with my Mom, and sister, H. Stay tuned, as I’m sure I’ll have more to share about that later on this month.
Aside from travel…here are some of the other things that I’m loving right now:
Currently Watching:
- Terrace House: Aloha State
- Southern Charm: Savannah
First off, if you have not seen Terrace House, you are missing out! If you haven’t heard of it, Terrace House is a Japanese reality show about 3 boys and 3 girls all living in a house together. There are also Japanese commentators who chat during the segment as well which is soooo entertaining. Personally, I ADORE Torichan. She’s amazing. There are English subtitles too, if like me, you don’t speak Japanese.
I might even write an upcoming post all about Terrace House and why it’s the best show on TV.
Currently Reading:
- The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand
- The Essential Habits of 6 Figure Bloggers
I always love a good summer novel and The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand was pretty addictive. I also loved that it was also a bit of a mystery as well. At first I had a hard time keeping track of the characters so I actually kept a list of each person and their relationships to one another.
The second book, The Essential Habits of 6 Figure Bloggers is one that I just started but I’m really excited to keep reading. I’ve seen it all over the internet recently and there seem to be a lot of great reviews.
Currently Listening To:
- Anpanman by BTS
- Harry Potter Soundtrack
I am still obsessed with the most recent BTS album! Anpanman is still my favorite song but I’ve been enjoying the other songs too. Unfortunately, I’ve also found that I can’t listen to it when I’m working because I try to sing along and get too distracted.
For work hours, Harry Potter is still my go to. I have a Harry Potter station on Pandora and that’s what I tend to listen to over and over while I’m working.
Currently Planning:
- Our December trip to Scotland + Amsterdam
- Local trip next March (maybe St. Augustine, FL)
I’m hoping to spend some time in both September and October really planning for our Europe trip. So far, we have our flights and hotels booked but still need to plan out some options for food and local activities.
Because the Europe trip will be a big trip, J and I are planning something smaller for his spring break. Right now, we’re thinking of heading to St. Augustine for a couple of days since it’s pretty close and within driving distance.
To Sum Up:
Well, that’s all for now. I hope you enjoyed this little life update! And before you go, I want to share one of my favorite quotes that I read this week,
“If there is one formula that I can share with you, it is this: vulnerability, when met with empathy, leads to wholeness.” -Imperfect Courage by Jessica Honegger
P.S. If you haven’t read Jessica’s new book, ‘Imperfect Courage’ you should!
