Miracle Morning Routine:
I would never be what most people would refer to as a ‘morning person.’ In fact, until a few months ago, the first hour or two of the morning was always my least favorite time of the day. Regardless of what I tried, I was never a person who got excited about getting up in the morning.
However, that was before I read the book “The Miracle Morning” by Hal Elrod.
For me, the most valuable part of this book is that it provides a good structure to follow if you’re not sure where to begin. You can then take the structure and personalize it to fit your own life and what works best for you.
Now, I have a pretty structured morning routine that I follow Monday-Friday.
- Wake up at the same time each day
- 15 Minute walk
- 5-15 Minutes of meditation & prayer
- Get dressed
- Coffee, Water & Breakfast
- 15-30 Minutes of reading & journaling
Out of each of these areas, a morning walk is the one component that seems to make a huge difference for me. The other areas I can fairly easily schedule throughout other times of the day.
However, missing my morning walk really seems to hinder the rest of the day. Since reading the book, I’ve tried a few different variations. For example, I used to walk after reading and getting dressed but walking first thing in the morning seems to work best for me.
How to Create Your Own Miracle Morning?
What is the one habit that allows you to do everything else that you need to do?
For me, going on a walk is essential. However, for you it might be going on a run, a cup of tea, or a nice breakfast.
And if you’re not sure, that’s ok too. It took me a few months to find the right routine and habits that seemed to work best for me so don’t get discouraged if things don’t go well at first.
Try out different activities and make sure to keep track of what gives you the most energy. As well as what you really enjoy.
Also, if you’re having trouble getting started, I would highly recommend checking out Hal’s book, The Miracle Morning. It was a great starting place for me!
