Book Club: Final Week!
Hello, Friends. It’s our last week of the book club. I always love the feeling of finishing a new book and I know that I certainly learned a lot from reading this one. Stories are some of the most powerful tools for communicating so I loved reading through the stories in the final chapter.
Finally, the book ends with some really important questions to ask ourselves. I’d encourage you to get a moleskin and a pen and to write down a few responses to the questions below. You don’t need to answer all of them but at least choose a few.
Now, I understand that finding the heartbeat of God, taking note of the things that Jesus noticed, aligning myself with His work in my neighborhood and around the world is the reason I was created in the first place.
- Where have you been
- What has been demanding your time?
- Your gifts?
- Your talent?
- Your interests?
- Your passion?
- Your money?
- Your art?
- Your creative energy?
- Your relational skill?
- Your worship?
- Your voice?
- Your heart?
As you think through some of those questions I will just end with the same words that were used to end the book.
Joseph D’souza made an audacious claim. We are part of a movement that will eliminate the evils of the caste system in India. Can you see it? Does it break your heart? Does it stir something deep inside? If so, join us. Lets change the world.
The last couple of chapters mention a couple of books.
I’ve actually read both and would highly recommend them. If you are interested in learning more about human trafficking check out Half the Sky. Or, if you would like to learn more about some of the root issues of poverty and problems then check out The Hole in Our Gospel.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out all of the great resources and organizations that are listed at the end of the book!
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
