What is Stitch Fix?
Stitch Fix is a personalized styling service that sends you 5 items per box right to your home. These items can include clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories. When you initially sign up, you fill out a fairly extensive survey with your style and color preferences. As well as specifics about your body side/shape. You can choose how often you want to receive a box (I usually do once a month or every few months) but you could also choose every 2-3 weeks, every other month, or every 3 months. Another option is to just choose to receive a box whenever you want one. Once you get your box you can try on all of the items, and keep what you like, and send the rest back. Each box comes with a USPS return bag so you just throw everything you don’t want in the bag and send it back with free shipping.
How Much Does it Cost?
There is a $20 styling fee that is applied to each box. Then, as long as you keep at least one item, the $20 is then deducted off of whatever you keep.
Stitch Fix also has something called a “Style Pass” which I’ve purchased two years in a row. This means that you can pay $40 and this waives the “Styling Fee” for an entire year. Then, the $40 is just deducted from any items that you keep. Essentially, as long as you keep at least one item throughout the year and spend at least $40 during the year, then it’s totally worth it.
This way, if I decide to not keep anything in one of my boxes, I’m not out the $20 Styling Fee.
Why do I love it?
As a petite woman, finding clothes that fit correctly is not easy. However, I love that Stitch Fix has petite clothing, and especially, petite pants and jeans. It makes shopping so much easier than going to the store.
Also, I have had the same stylist, Jen, for about a year so she really knows my favorite styles and preferences so every box really feels tailored to what I love.
Below you can see my note from my stylist and some styling suggestions for each of the 5 pieces.
Stitch Fix Review October 2018
Collective Concepts – Betty Choker Neckline Blouse ($54.00)
I’ve had a few items sent from Collective Concepts and I love that they have petite sizing. I often like their styles but the colors usually aren’t my favorites. With this blouse, I love the blue, but don’t like the orange and brown.
Verdict: Returned
Fun2Fun – Kearney Henley Top ($44.00)
I LOVE this. It’s comfortable and the print is so me! I could definitely see myself getting a lot of use out of this one.
Verdict: Kept
Vixbe -Thompkins Tie Front Top ($42.00)
I pinned this one to my Pinterest board a few times and even requested it in a previous fix but at the time it wasn’t available. That being said, I was so excited to see it in my box. It’s a little sheer but very cute and definitely something I would wear. I love blue and white stripes.
Verdict: Undecided
Liverpool -Elizabeth Super Skinny Jean ($78.00)
I requested a pair of dark wash jeans in this fix so I was excited to see these. They are really comfortable and are petite so just about the perfect length. However, I don’t love having the waistband rather than a button. Some people love it, but it’s just not for me.
Verdict: Returned
Beacon – Alicia Pleat Detail Knit Top ($34.00)
I was a little on the fence on whether or not to keep this one. I really liked it and the way it fit. However, I knew I wasn’t going to keep the whole box, so there were just other pieces that were more interesting.
Verdict: Returned
Pricing:
Below is the pricing sheet which has the name of each item and how much it costs. You can see at the bottom that there is a 25% discount for keeping all 5 items. I also had a gift card that I applied.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, I was really happy with this fix. I really appreciated that Jen gave me so much blue, which is my favorite color. She also did well looking at my Pinterest board and giving me items similar to what I requested.

- Make sure to link a Pinterest board to your account and pin as much as you can. This will give your stylist a better understanding of your favorite styles and colors.
- Each time you schedule a fix, you can leave a note for your stylist. You can either request specific Stitch Fix items or leave general requests. For example, (distressed skinny jeans, navy trench, etc.). This is also really helpful for your stylist.
- Continue to use the same stylist. The longer you work with the same stylist, the more they will get to know your style! Over time, fixes tend to get better and better.
