What I’m Reading: February + March
Well friends, it’s been three months now since I’ve been on Instagram and to be honest, I don’t really miss it. However, what I do miss…is being able to share with you what I’ve been reading lately. So, for this weeks post, I will be sharing all about the books and podcasts that I’ve been loving over the past/current month.
What I Read in February:
In the Midst of Winter by Isabele Allende (novel)
On Edge: A Journey Through Anxiety by Andrea Peterson (non-fiction)
Pride and Prejudice and Mistletoe by Melissa De La Cruz (novel)
The Book of Mistakes by Skip Prichard (non-fiction)
Favorite Book from February:
If you only have time to read one book, I would definitely recommend The Book of Mistakes by Skip Prichard. It was my favorite book for the month of February.
What I’m Reading in March:
The Lying Game by Ruth Ware (Finished)
Jane of Austin by Hillary Manton Lodge (Finished)
Do Less Get More by Shaa Wasmund (excited to read)
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (Currently reading)
Breaking Cover: My Secret Life in the CIA and What it taught Me about What’s Worth Fighting For (Listening on Audible)
Tip:
I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but if you’re wanting to find more time to read, I would suggest doing a combination of paper books (or e-books) with audiobooks. For example, if I find that I have 5-15 minutes free during the day I will listen to an audiobook. Over the course of a month or more, those short segments of time can really add up.
So far, March has been a great reading month. I’m really enjoying all of the books that I’ve both read and am currently reading and would recommend each of them.
Also, if you decide to read, Breaking Cover, I would highly recommend listening to the audiobook. It’s read by the author and I love her voice.
Podcasts I’m Listening to:
I used to listen to the same few podcasts on a weekly basis, however, now I prefer picking and choosing episodes from a variety of podcasts.
The Tim Ferriss Show
Building a Story Brand with Donald Miller
The Lively Show
Pivot Podcast with Jenny Blake
Happen to Your Career
Work at Home Heroes
To Finish Up:
It might look like I read a huge number of books, and I do. However, keep in mind what I mentioned earlier, I’ve been off of social media for the past few months. We all have different priorities and things that we enjoy. But, if you would like to make more time in your life for books and reading, I would recommend trying a short social media fast. Even if it’s just for a day or week, you might be surprised by how much ‘extra’ time you suddenly have in your day!
