What’s Saving My Life Right Now
I’m excited to be jumping on board with Anne Bogel of Modern Mrs. Darcy’s link up called What’s Saving My Life Right Now. I’ve been following Anne for years and years as we seem to have many of the same interests. Feel free to click here to check out the linkup for yourself.
So, to jump right in… Here are a few things that are making this winter season a little brighter for me.
1. Extra Cups of Coffee
If you’ve known me for any length of time, you probably guessed that coffee would be somewhere on this list. And you would be right. Even in Florida, it’s been unusually cold this winter. So, a second cup of coffee in the afternoon is something that I’ve been looking forward to lately.
2. Novels
When I have the option, I usually lean towards reading more non-fiction. However, this past month I’ve almost exclusively been into novels. At the end of the day, I’ve been trying to spend more time reading and less time on Netflix.
3. Random Warmer Days
Even though it doesn’t seem to last…having warmer temperatures for a day or two is great. I love spending time outside and it’s so much easier to do that when it’s a little warmer. In fact, I like to keep my eye on the temperature throughout the day so that I can choose my afternoon walk time based on the highest point of the day.
4. Cozy Sweaters
I think that this is the first winter of living in the Southeast where I have actually had to bring out the sweaters for 2+ months. However, this year has been an exception. While I would prefer 70 degree days…I have to admit that it has been fun to bring out some of my old sweaters that haven’t been worn much over the past few years.
5. Audible
In December, my friend Victoria sent me a free Audible book called Three Feet From Gold. I ended up LOVING this book and would highly recommend it. Even if you’re not a big fan of Personal Development type books, the book is told as a story which makes it light and easy to follow along with. Then, last week, I knew that I would have a few hours in the Atlanta airport so I downloaded Alli Worthington’s new book called, Fierce Faith: A woman’s guide to fighting fear, wrestling worry, and overcoming anxiety. Even though I’m only a few chapters in, I’m enjoying it so far.
6. Fluffy UGG Socks
Last year, my sister bought me a pair of UGG socks and they’re THE BEST THINGS EVER! They are sooo cozy and perfect to wear all over the house.
7. Candles
Burning a candle and reading a good book is now my favorite way to end the day. There’s nothing like the smell of a great candle to put you in a good mood. Right now, I’ve been loving anything that smells like vanilla, cinnamon, or reminds me of winter.
